Exit Choas, Enter Tim Statum this week

Another week flying by. We would like to appologize to everyone who made the show on Saturday. Through a scheduling snafu, there were two live shows at Floyd's at the same time. they tryed to pull it off by allowing both to proceed as planned. The sound from the other show made it impossible to concentrate on the show in front of our guests. Lucas Bohn, our feature comic struggled and Mike Speenburg, who has traveled all over the world to literally thousands of clubs, said it was the worst situation he has ever had to perform in (at least fully clothed). They tried their professional best and managed somehow to entertain our guests but our appologizes go to both of them for putting them in this situation. Floyd's has assurred us that it will not ever occur and they came to the realization that comedy is not the same of music. Not only do we have the best comics around, but we found out that our guests as just as wonderful. The support they gave Lucas. Mike and ourselves after the show was heart warming. THANK YOU. On to this coming weekend.

It is Southern Humor coming to Alexandria this weekend with the return of Tim Statum to the Comedy Zone. He sums it up himself -
"If you're southern, or know someone who is, I'm like the grand daddy or uncle who sits around and tells stories, trying to make you laugh until you piss in your pants."
The holiday season is in full swing now and if your lives are going crazy like ours, some rest and relaxation is in order. Get a group of your friends or family together and come out to the Comedy Zone this weekend.
For ninety minutes we will make you forget all your problems. All you need to do is sit and laugh. Just enjoy the fine cooking and great comedy we will present to you. Laughter is good for your heart, health, and soul.
So as we enter our third month at Floyd's, plan on coming out to support both your health and our attempt to bring live comedy to Alexandria. Laughter is guaranteed to make you feel better according to the American Medical Association.
If you ever caught Tim at Zig's, you feel like you are friends with his ex-wife "Frosty". His take on marriage will have you laughing in your seats. He has been entertaining people all over the country recently. This Birmingham native incorporates real life stories with classic stand up comedy. A true professional in the comedy world.
This is the time of year to spend time with those closest to you. So get everyone together and come out to the show. The comedy will start at 8 PM and is finished by 9:30 PM, so you can plan your evening. Floyd's is putting specials on the menu specifically for our guests. Great, home style cooking while you enjoy live entertainment on the new stage in the main room.
Check out the live jazz music we present prior to the show so you can enjoy your dinner in style. Our friends, the Old Dominion Jazz Trio, appear regularly. That is whenever all three of them have the evening off from their "real" jobs. We are constantly trying to find new and improved ways to entertain our guests, so be prepared for anything. My favorites are the stupid pet tricks, except for when we have to clean the stage after them.
Wanda, Heather and I are there every Friday and Saturday night and would love to welcome back old friends and looking for new faces to make new friends of.
